Following 3 months of work builders have rebuilt the homes of local residents of Rudnytske village, in the Kyiv region, thanks to the support of philanthropists (Berezan Community Foundation with the support of ISAR &#8220;Ednannia&#8221;, financial support of the Fedir Shpyg Foundation and &#8220;MHP-Gromadi&#8221;). Repairs completed include restoring and covering the roofs damaged by explosions, replacing damaged windows and doors, and restoring walls damaged by bullets or shell fragments.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This project is an extremely successful example of charity partnership work. Several charitable foundations, civil society institutions, including international ones, have joined forces to help those who have survived Russia\u2019s invasion and occupation. As soon as we were alerted to the situation facing the local residents of Rudnytske we were determined to immediately respond as we believe\u00a0 the restoration of Ukraine and its territorial communities must begin now. The whole Ukraine is united now behind the war effort and will work tirelessly for the sake of victory!&#8221; comments Pavlo Moroz, Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department of MHP.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, it was planned to restore 8 houses. More than 60 houses of local residents were severely damaged. We are rebuilding some of them on our own, with the help of neighboring communities. But these charitable organizations were the first to respond to our request for help &#8211; and we are extremely grateful to them for that,&#8221; commented Iryna Borzak, the head of Rudnytske village.<\/p>\n<p>The village was occupied until March 28. Russian military hid behind civilians and placed their equipment in civilians&#8217; yards and gardens. As a result, people&#8217;s homes were hit by crossfire. This happened to the house of the Tkachenko family.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The explosion in our house blew off the roof, smashed all the windows and doors. We were left without electricity, gas, water. The barn burned down, the room itself was damaged. We could not afford to do the necessary repair work ourselves. In summer we slept in the open air, and in September it was raining.
