The “VARTO: Recipe of Care” competition has officially launched

05 june 2026

The Ukrainian Veterans Foundation, in partnership with the School Nutrition Reform Team and with the support of the MHP–romadi Charitable Foundation through the “MHP Poruch” programme, has announced a new grant competition for veteran-owned businesses in the school catering sector. 🍽️

Successful applicants can receive grants ranging from UAH 500,000 to UAH 3 million.

Starting from September 2026, Ukraine’s national school meal programme will expand to cover all students in grades 1–11. As demand for catering and outsourced school meal services continues to grow, veterans will have new opportunities to build sustainable businesses, create jobs, and contribute to providing high-quality meals for Ukrainian children.

Eligible applicants include veteran-owned sole proprietorships, self-mployed individuals, and legal entities in which veterans are the ultimate beneficial owners, either already operating in the food service sector or planning to develop school catering services.

Applications are open until 17 June 2026 (6:00 PM Kyiv time). The winners will be announced on 23 July 2026.
