Youth space “My Home Is in the Center” opens in Vinnytsia region with support from the MHP-Hromadi Charitable Foundation

26 october 2026

In the village of Mukhivtsi, Nemyriv community, Vinnytsia region, the youth space “My Home Is in the Center” has opened. The former library has been renovated and equipped for creative activities, rehearsals, meetups and community events.

The need for such a place came from a lack of venues where young people could gather and spend time, especially during the cold season.

The project brought together the MHP-Hromadi Charitable Foundation, Nemyriv City Council, local entrepreneurs and villagers. Over UAH 200,000 was invested in the renovation, including UAH 80,000 from the Foundation. The building underwent a major overhaul: the heating system was replaced, laminate flooring and a stretch ceiling were installed, the shelving was refurbished and the necessary equipment was purchased.

“The Mukhivtsi district is large, and it matters to us that it truly lives rather than merely exists on the map. A village lives as long as it has young people who have something to do and a place to bring their ideas to life. Now they have a space of their own, right next to home,” said Volodymyr Puzaienko, head of the Mukhivtsi district.

A special highlight is a wall featuring portraits of prominent people from Vinnytsia region. The space will host rehearsals, performances, hobby clubs, creative meetups and cultural events. It is open not only to children and young people, but to all residents of the village.

“We believe that people know their community’s needs best. In Mukhivtsi, residents decided for themselves what the village lacked, and we helped bring the idea to life in partnership. Sustainable development is possible when a community doesn’t wait but initiates change — that’s how it grows stronger from within. That’s why it is important to us that there are more and more examples like this,” emphasized Volodymyr Zabela, Director of the MHP-Hromadi Charitable Foundation.

Creating conditions for young people to stay in their communities is one of the focus areas of MHP’s Sustainable Development Strategy: by 2030, the company aims to reduce youth outflow from villages and towns by 30%. For 11 years, the MHP-Hromadi Charitable Foundation has been working in over 700 communities across 13 regions of Ukraine, so that every town and village is a place where people want to live, work and dream.
