Our foundation has been working hard to support the thousands of children who have been caught up in the ongoing conflict. We were delighted to host several hundred children who, together with their families, have been forced to leave their homes, at a fair in Kholodny Yar, the site of a traditional art festival. The festival enabled these children to immerse themselves in fairy tale themed activities and experiences and temporarily forget about the horrors of the war.

A highlight of the festivities was a longstanding tradition of Krutyy Zamis where visitors are taught to cook and taste home-made bread, a local speciality. Fragrant, with a crispy crust, it can be tasted as soon as it is taken out of the oven. Such a delicacy is baked only in Kholodny Yar and can only be eaten by those who helped prepare it.
Sashko Lirnyk, the famous and renown Ukrainian author of fairy tales took part, reading the children stories about the glorious heroic past of our ancestors, sharing their tenacity and courage in the face of adversity.
The MHP-Gromadi charity foundation is delighted to take part in such a worthwhile initiative and the Krutyy Zamis will continue to provide tours for children who have been forced to flee their homes until the end of the summer.
