CHARITY UKRAINE – 2021 VICTORY

Despite the ongoing conflict in our country, the National Contest “Charity Ukraine-2021” has continued to acknowledge winners and laureates. MHP is proud to have our efforts recognised in 18 nominations. Our national tour “Open Air Cinema” won the hearts of the National Expert Council which judged the contest and our project was awarded first place by the jury members. According to the Director of our Foundation Tetyana Volochai, the most valuable thing in the National Open Air Cinema Tour is not the experts recognition but its impact on the citizens of Ukraine.

Films from the Ukrainian film industry have been able to warm the hearts of people across the country:

-watched by more than 50,000 viewers

– played in 342 settlements

Over the course of last summer we showed 122 screenings in communities consisting of 12 full-length and 26 short Ukrainian films. Two Ukrainian records were even set during the National Film Open Air Tour. The project was also supported by its ambassadors, stars of the Ukrainian cinema: Bohdan Benyuk, Irma Vitovska, Akhtem Seitablaev, Mykhailo Illenko, Yaroslav Pilunsky, Andrii Donchyk, Sashko Lirnyk.

But what will happen to the National Tour this year? Talks are currently ongoing about how to adapt the project to the modern realities of life. We really hope that this summer “Open Air Cinema” will go to Ukraine again, but with a different mission.

The National Open Air Cinema Tour was realized by the MHP-Hromadi Charitable Foundation in partnership with The Association of “Ukraine Cinema Development and Support – watch Ukrainian!” and with the support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency. Our partners on the National Film Open Air Tour were: Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Deloitte in Ukraine, Ukrainian Film Academy, UA: Public Broadcasting, Vavilon company, Espresso TV.
