MHP Run4Victory: Over 700,000 UAH Raised in Cherkasy to Support Ukraine’s Defenders
All proceeds from registrations for the MHP Run4Victory race in Cherkasy will directly support the 118th Territorial Defense Brigade named after Otaman Lyuty-Lyutenko. Although the event was canceled due to national mourning for the victims of the shelling in Kryvyi Rih, its primary mission — to aid Ukraine’s defenders — remains steadfast.
A total of UAH 718,602 was raised from 1,414 participants who registered for the race. These funds will be used to purchase drones for the soldiers of the 118th Brigade, who have fought in Popasna, Bakhmut, Vuhledar, and Kurakhove, and are currently carrying out operations in Zaporizhzhia, Kursk, and along Ukraine’s northern border.
“Support from civilian and charitable initiatives like MHP Run4Victory is incredibly important for our brigade. It strengthens us logistically and boosts our morale. These events unite society and show meaningful support for our defenders. Each such event inspires us to do everything possible for our victory. The funds raised will help secure modern, reliable drones, enabling us to avoid direct enemy contact while obtaining real-time battlefield intelligence.”
The first charity race in the MHP Run4Victory 2025 series was originally scheduled for April 6 in Cherkasy as part of an initiative by MHP and the MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with sports partner NewRun. The project’s main objective is to support the active-duty military personnel and honor fallen defenders of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
However, in light of the tragic events in Kryvyi Rih, national mourning, and continued shelling of Ukrainian cities, the organizers made the responsible decision to cancel the event.
“We aimed to bring people together in support of our men and women in service. Yet, in the wake of national mourning for victims in Kryvyi Rih and early morning enemy attacks, canceling the mass event was the right choice. Still, we never abandoned the most important part — supporting our defenders. All funds will be directed to the 118th Brigade, which is currently on the front lines. We sincerely thank each participant. Together, we are strong!”
“This was meant to be more than just a sporting event — it was a powerful statement of solidarity with those fighting for Ukraine and a tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the event. While this decision was difficult, our commitment to unity, strength, and compassion remains unshaken. We will continue to organize charity races and unite in the Victory Marathon! We remember everyone holding the line, those in captivity, and those who have given their lives for our freedom. Despite the race’s cancellation, our unity and support for each other remain as strong as ever. Ukrainian businesses, communities, and individuals remain united in belief and action.”
To preserve the emotional significance of the race, all registered participants have the opportunity to receive their medals by mail. Requests can be sent via email to info@newrun.com.ua.
