Donors arranged a modern culinary laboratory at a college in the Kyiv region

18 december 2024,

A modern work and training “Food Technologies” laboratory was opened at the college located in the village of Nemishaieve, Kyiv region. The facility was equipped with a convection steamer, refrigerator, freezer, blast chiller, Thermomix cooking robot, etc. Currently, there are 1,676 students at the Nemishaieve Vocational College of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences. Those majoring in food technology will be able to undergo training on the new equipment.

According to Oleksandr Pakholiuk, director of MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation, the laboratory will become an integral part of the educational process and will give college students a major advantage when getting employed.

Nowadays, it is crucial to invest in education, thus ensuring not only the opportunity for the youth to gain knowledge but also providing them with the tools to make them competitive professionals in the modern labor market. Thus, they will not only use their potential properly but also will contribute to the development of Ukraine. We in the Charitable Foundation believe it is important that these professionals remain in Ukraine, improve our economy, and contribute to the development of communities, namely, in small towns and villages.

Pavlo Moroz, Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department, MHP, noted that it is strategically important for the company to support such projects.

MHP, a major international business transforming into a culinary company, is concerned about the vocational college graduates’ skills to work with technology, be qualified, and compete efficiently. That said, any modern employer values the possibility of getting a university graduate, who has a sufficiently broad range of skills, to join their team. Therefore, major companies, such as MHP, are prepared to invest in students to enrich the market with young and promising employees.

Volodymyr Aliokhin, director of the Nemishaieve Vocational College of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences, believes that this laboratory will significantly improve the facilities and resources of the institution, which in 2022 was under occupation and suffered from the invaders’ actions. The college partners, MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation and MHP, invested a total of about UAH 800,000 in the culinary space.

Despite the situation, we not only continue our activities but also try to move forward and create the best opportunities for our students to train and develop. This new culinary laboratory at our college is a real art workshop to help improve the skills of anyone dreaming of working in the field of food technologies. It is also a remarkable example of a public and private partnership, which will help strengthen Ukraine’s economy.

Vladyslav Sukhanov, a 4th-year student at Nemishaieve Vocational College, is majoring in food technologies. He was one of the first people to test the new culinary laboratory equipment.

After graduation, I dream of working as a cheese maker and developing a unique recipe to produce delicious cheeses and dishes of them. The new equipment in our culinary laboratory inspires me to become the best professional.

During the opening, Ihor Shchavinskyi, chef of MHP Culinary Center, demonstrated to students ways to prepare beef tongue sous vide tempura with muer. He noted that in a world of rapid digital development, in their training, modern students must not only be aware of the modern culinary world but also know how it all works in practice.

A small part of MHP Culinary Center at Nemishaieve College is a big step forward for students who see themselves in this profession in the future.
