How to start a business: an educational video course was presented for entrepreneurs

15 november 2024,

MHP and the MHP–Gromadi Charitable Foundation, in cooperation with the State Employment Service, presented an educational video course for business representatives, where experts explain all the key aspects of building your own business: from the idea to funding and submitting statements.

The educational video course consists of 10 episodes lasting from 5 to 15 minutes where experts tell where to find business ideas, how to write viable business plans, build efficient teams, and consider risks and marketing trends. After watching the course, entrepreneurs will also learn where to find investment for their businesses and how to make a grant application attractive to donors. Representatives of the Grape marketing agency, MHP, MHP–Gromadi Charitable Foundation, and the State Employment Service became experts.

The course is designed both for new entrepreneurs and those who only plan to start a business. According to Pavlo Moroz, Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department, MHP, the educational videos united the expertise of business representatives and the MHP–Gromadi CF, which have been developing Ukrainian communities for over 9 years via social and grant initiatives, as well as of the State Employment Service professionals, who may also offer relevant grant opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Communities development and public initiatives support are the strategic areas for MHP as a socially responsible business. We all realize that community development depends on small businesses providing services locally and filling budgets with taxes. Therefore, in cooperation with our strategic partner MHP–Gromadi CF, we support micro-businesses through grants, training, and advisory services, which contribute to the creation of new jobs and the provision of quality services in communities. This educational course is one of the platforms where we share expertise with those wishing to change their lives and communities for the better.

According to Opendatabot statistics, every third IE in Ukraine ceases its activity within the first year. The main reasons for failure include a lack of capital and of necessary knowledge and skills to run a business efficiently. We made this course to help entrepreneurs successfully overcome the initial challenges: it provides relevant information and consulting support thus improving their position in a competitive business environment.

Oleksandr Pakholiuk, Director of MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation

The Employment Service actively supports micro and small businesses as they create jobs and pay taxes. It is part of our active employment policy. Our grants for a business start-up and such other measures as training and compensation programs for employers allow us to influence the Ukrainian labor market and make it more efficient and inclusive. With this video course, we and MHP wish to support Ukrainians who are willing to become an entrepreneur.

Yulia Zhovtiak, director of the State Employment Service

Educational videos are publicly available and free.

After watching the episodes, all interested parties may take the test and get a certificate confirming their knowledge and increasing their chances of writing a successful application and receiving funding in future “Do Your Business” competitions held by the MHP–Gromadi CF. It should be recalled that “Do Your Business” is a small business support program, within which entrepreneurs can get up to UAH 100,000 for their business development.

MHP-Gromadi is a Ukrainian Charitable Foundation that was launched in 2015. Its main mission is comprehensive community development. Its operational geography includes 13 regions of Ukraine: more than 700 towns and villages. Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Foundation has been systematically supporting people in the war zones: Ukrainian defenders and rescuers, communities, hospitals, and maternity homes; charitable institutions that care for orphans and the elderly; and people who have lost their homes and livelihoods due to the war.
