Without supporting Ukrainian culture during the war, we risk losing Ukrainian values, meanings, and traditions post-victory. Conversely, if we do not strive for victory, we risk losing our statehood entirely. How does MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation strike the perfect balance?
“The war factor has become a pivotal determinant for the actions and plans of MHP and MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation. Everything that needs to be done for defense is our top priority: it was, is, and will continue to be,” Yuriy Melnyk, Deputy Chairman of the Board of MHP and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation, states.
“For the first three months following the outbreak of the full-scale war, MHP-Gromadi Foundation dedicated its efforts solely to support defense, and then gradually resumed all the programs it had developed pre-war,” Melnyk recalls.
“It was during the war that we decided to bolster the area of culture and projects that foster Ukrainian identity. Now, out of the 300 million UAH a year that the foundation operates, half of the amount is allocated to victory – for the needs of the military, their families, and demobilized soldiers. The other half is invested in community projects and, notably, in supporting Ukrainian culture,” Tetiana Volochai, Director of MHP-Gromadi Foundation, adds.
