«MHP-Gromadi» receives the highest score in a national competition of charitable organisations.
“Systematic work, reporting, transparency, reliable cooperation with partners, responsibility for our every step – that is what’s important to us and what was held in high regard by Compass. We are proud to receive the highest rating, and it shows we are moving in the right direction. Our plans include further support for Ukraine’s communities – the bedrock of our economy – as well as those who find themselves in difficult circumstances today,” commented Tetyana Volochai, Director of «MHP-Gromadi».
The organisers of the project also note that they paid close attention to best practice in other countries to guide their criteria. In particular, they looked at Charity Navigator and Charity Watch in the United States, as well as various bodies across Britain such as the Charity Commission in England and Wales, and the OSCR in Scotland.
These institutions are the largest global organisations that assess the accountability, financial performance and fundraising management of charitable institutions in their respective countries. The information provided is evaluated by international donors and businesses, who then make decisions about whether or not to work with a particular organisation.
A similar ratings system was implemented in the Association of Philanthropists of Ukraine.
