“Agriculture is one of the key industries that shape the global economy. Both the agricultural sector and the wider food industry are currently undergoing radical transformations. With the number of people on the planet constantly growingwe need new ideas to protect the world from hunger. Ukraine occupies a prominent position in the global food industry and the sector stands at the forefront of efforts to develop new technologies and the transition from extensive to intensive agriculture. Drones, for example, are already becoming an integral part of the industry and part of our efforts to introduce new technologies that reduce the need for manual labor. Veteran business are among the fastest to embrace innovative technologies, having already become familiar with them on the battlefield, and so they can easily adapt them to suit civilian life,” says Ruslana Velychko-Trifoniuk, First Deputy Executive Director of the Ukrainian Veterans Fund.

In 2022, the Ukrainian Veterans Fund held two macro-financing competitions, in which 53 winners received grants between 500 thousand – one million hryvnias. This year, the project is being implemented in partnership with «MHP-Gromadi» Сharitable foundation which has already been supporting microenterprise in the regions for several years. Last year«MHP-Gromadi»  financed the launch and development of 85 businesses for UAH 7.4 million across 11 regions.

“For our Foundation, cooperation with the UVF and the Ministry of Veterans has become not just a logical continuation of the “Do Your Business” contest, but a matter of honor. Supporting and helping the military and their families is one of our key missions. Ukraine’s recovery must not wait until after the victory and is already underway. The quality of life for our future generations depends on the environment and ecosystem we create in our communities to thank those who put their lives on the line. ” emphasizes Tetiana Volochai, Director of the «MHP-Gromadi» Charitable Foundation.

In addition to financing, veteran entrepreneurship will also receive support at the legislative level.
