Philanthropists distributed 900 food parcels to the residents of the frontline town of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk Oblast. The parcels included pasta, cereals, sugar, tea, canned fish, oil, biscuits, and chicken meat supplied by MHP.
The distribution of the food parcels was made possible through the cooperation of the MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation, the 100 Percent Life Rivne Charitable Organisation, and the Help Me Humanitarian Centre. The MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation received a sub-grant as part of the Charitable Assistance to Vulnerable Populations of the Kostiantynivka Territorial Community in Donetsk Oblast Project financed by the 100 Percent Life Rivne Charitable Organisation with funding provided by the European Union.
Konstiantynivka suffers massive destruction daily due to the fighting and constant shelling by the Russian military. Many businesses have ceased operations in the town. This has caused difficulties with logistics and the supply of food and basic necessities. Local residents require support, as even buying food has become an impossible task for some of them. In addition, some goods are not available in stores, and the price of what is available soared, as it is a difficult mission to bring these products to the frontline area that is shelled constantly.
“It is important not to leave Ukrainians living in the frontline or liberated territories alone with their problems. We have to confront these challenges together. Supporting food security is one of the main objectives pursued by our Foundation. We were active in this area before the full-scale invasion. For instance, our Sowing Seeds with MHP campaign provided people with quality seeds and helped them get a good harvest. The full-scale invasion did not stop us. Together with our partners, we have already distributed food parcels in the Sumy, Kherson, Dnipro, and Kyiv Oblasts and will continue to do so in the future,” says Tetiana Volochai, Director of MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation.
The project was supported by volunteers from the Help Me Humanitarian Centre and MHP-Gromadi staff. They worked together to compile a list of recipients, packed the food parcels, and distributed them. Thanks to their efforts, 900 Konstiantynivka residents received food parcels.
“We live close to the combat zone and people desperately need this help. Any support is indispensable to the residents of the frontline zones, whether it be food parcels, basic necessities, heaters, or blankets. All these things play a crucial role for the town residents now,” said Anastasiia Danylenko, a volunteer with the Help Me Humanitarian Centre.
