UAH 1.6 billion invested in sustainable community development: how the MHP–Hromadi Charitable Foundation supported social, veteran, and cultural initiatives

06 may 2026

The MHP–Hromadi Charitable Foundation is a national leader in sustainable community development, driving systemic change for nearly 11 years across more than 700 localities in 13 regions of Ukraine. The Foundation operates where support is most needed — from frontline areas to remote villages — bringing together businesses, government, and communities. It is ranked among Ukraine’s top 20 charitable organizations by Forbes.

The Foundation has presented its Non-Financial Report, summarizing its activities and impact in 2025. Its key priorities include comprehensive community development, support for military personnel, veterans and their families within the “MHP поруч” (“MHP Nearby”) program, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and the promotion of Ukrainian identity.

For the third consecutive year, the Foundation has received an independent audit report from PwC Ukraine. In 2024, it attracted UAH 1.6 billion in charitable funding.

Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has fundamentally reshaped the context in which communities, businesses, and civil society operate. It has made clear that fragmented solutions are no longer effective; systemic approaches are required to achieve long-term impact. In response, the MHP–Hromadi Foundation has structured its work around scalable, sustainable models, transforming accumulated experience into a more strategic and impact-driven framework.

The Foundation’s strategic partner is MHP, which has adopted a Sustainability Strategy through 2030. This strategy establishes unified approaches to social, environmental, and governance practices, integrating them into business processes, investments, and operations.

Within this model, the Foundation brings together communities, businesses, government institutions, and civil society to co-create solutions. Through partnerships, it strengthens community capacity and delivers long-term impact.

In 2025, the Foundation implemented large-scale social, cultural, and veteran-focused initiatives, including:
• UAH 40.4 million allocated to fund 103 social initiatives under the “Time to Act, Ukraine!” grant competition
• UAH 15 million invested in the development of 20 adaptive spaces through the “Time to Act, Unstoppable” initiative
• 462,000 hot meals prepared for people in frontline areas and regions most affected by shelling
• 21,000 military personnel, veterans, and their family members engaged in activities within the “MHP Poruch” program
• Cultural projects implemented across 17 countries worldwide

“We measure effectiveness not by the number of initiatives, but by how they improve people’s quality of life and strengthen the capacity of communities. This approach defines our understanding of sustainable development — as a decision-making framework that considers long-term impact, responsible resource use, and real value for people and communities,”
said Yurii Melnyk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the MHP–Hromadi Charitable Foundation and Deputy CEO for Sustainability at MHP.
