Up to UAH 100,000 for your own business: “Do Your Business ” business ideas competition for entrepreneurs in the regions has started
On April 4, the “Do Your Business” grant competition launched. The program ensures entrepreneurs from across the regions can receive up to UAH 100 thousand to start or invest in their own business. This year, the program plans to support at least 50 projects and has a total budget of UAH 6 million.
“This year, we have selected food security as a key priority in supporting business projects. Last year, most of the ideas were related to processing or preserving fruits and vegetables, creating new products, logistics, distribution, etc, which have become veryrelevant to communities across Ukraine. This trend will not disappear after the victory and we have thereforedecided to concentrate our efforts on creating a successful small business ecosystem in the regions that would provide people with jobs and boost local food security,” said Tetiana Volochai, director of the «MHP-Gromadi» Сharitable Foundation, which organized the competition.
The following can apply for grant support:
– businesses that are already operating;
– entrepreneurs who have a business idea and are looking for funds to implement it;
– entrepreneurs who are relocating their business.
“The peculiarity of our annual competition is the consultations of experts and volunteers. That is, in addition to grants, entrepreneurs will be able to get advice and training on writing grant applications, creating a business plan, strategizing, SMM, etc. The first such consultation will take place on April 11 and will be open to everyone who registers for it.
In addition to funds, we will provide networking and expertise to support the entrepreneur’s business idea long into the future -,” adds Volodymyr Panchenko, head of national projects at the «MHP-Gromadi» Сharitable foundation. The main criteria for selecting the winners will be the innovativeness of the project, its economic case, its potential for job creation, its wider social impact on thewider community and/or the involvement of IDPs.
The deadline for applications is May 5 and winners will be announced on May 25, 2023.
Last year, the charitable foundation funded 74 business ideas for more than UAH 6 million across 11 regions of Ukraine.
“Do Your Business” Business Idea Contest
The grant competition for representatives of small communities to implement business initiatives with the financial support of MHP was launched in 2016. Back then it was called “Village. Steps to Development”. Thanks to the competition more than 300 people were able to start a business in rural areas, receiving grant support worth more than UAH 16 million. In 2020, the competition was renamed “Do Your Business” and expanded its geographical scope.
