40 winners of the PROgrowth competition get grants for professional development

09 november 2024,

On November 6, the winners of the PROgrowth, the new grant competition, were announced, and its participants will get up to UAH 15,000 for training and professional development.

The pilot project by the MHP-Gromadi CF and MHP is being implemented on the territory of two communities – Myronivka (Kyiv Oblast) and Kaniv (Cherkasy Oblast). In September – October, the competition organizing committee received 108 applications from employees of the social and humanitarian, healthcare, historical, and cultural industries, as well as from entrepreneurs.

We cannot create communities we want to live in without any personal development. This is the mission of our Foundation. Thus, we launched grants for personal development so that people could learn, and improve themselves and their community. We have received over 100 interesting projects within this initiative, which yet again proved the involvement of our people and their potential for changes.

The competition was a logical continuation of the activities enabling us to implement an important objective as this year the Foundation’s professionals undertook to help these two communities – Myronivka and Kaniv – with updating their development strategies. These are the main community documents setting the most important tasks and goals for 10 years.

Still, it is impossible to develop communities without the main resource – human capital. Communities may continue their development only when investing in people: knowledge, skills, ability to adapt to changes, and work efficiently as a team.

The competition expert commission selected 40 winners: 21 projects from the Kaniv community and 19 projects from the Myronivka one. 33 projects are dedicated to training, 6 to the procurement of equipment and materials, and one to the event organization.

The commission increased the competition budget from UAH 400,000 to UAH 510,000 to support more projects. Therefore, the total amount granted to participants’ development, including their contributions, reached UAH 707,500.
