OUTGROW TEAM BUILDING: HOW CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING CAN BENEFIT COMMUNITIES AND BUSINESSES.

Pavlo Moroz, Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department at MHP, has shared a story of  when traditional team building went beyond the usual clean-ups and became a large-scale project that managed to boost the relationship between business and the community.

Whether it is weekly cleaning of the area around the local school or spending a Saturday morning with colleagues cleaning up the river bank – Ukraine has unique traditions that are familiar from childhood. This (in most cases) large-scale cleaning efforts see volunteers, socially active people and responsible businesses unite to work for the common good.

Globally, this phenomenon is celebrated as World Cleanup Day and every year on the third Saturday of September, NGOs around the world come out for a large-scale cleanup in their region: cleaning up parks, squares, forests, coastal and other areas.

However, now in Ukraine, communities are uniting to clean up and repair all the damage and debris cause by russian shelling and rebuild the homes, infrastructure and facilities that the invaders destroyed.
