Restoring museums and supporting defenders within the MHP Poruch program. Award-winning initiatives in the Charitable Ukraine 2023 competition

26 june 2024,

The MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation and MHP international company projects were awarded at the Charitable Ukraine 2023 National Competition. More than 1,600 applications from all over Ukraine were submitted to the competition. There were 26 nominations in total. The project on the restoration of five museums implemented the previous year by the MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation won the “Charity in Culture and Art” nomination, and the MHP Poruch program, intended for military personnel and veterans support, won the “Charity of Large Businesses” nomination.

The organizers noted the comprehensive and systematic approach to veterans’ reintegration on the part of the MHP international company. More than a year ago, the company established a Center for Interaction with Military Personnel and Veterans within the program. The Center’s coordinators provide military personnel, veterans, and their families with tailored and comprehensive support. There is also a Telegram channel and a hotline providing 24-hour support to veterans, where employees and residents of communities with MHP presence can seek assistance. The program also focuses on promoting the establishment of veteran facilities and communities, supporting entrepreneurship in communities, and holding special events for veterans’ reintegration.

“Within the MHP Poruch program, we support military personnel, veterans, and residents of communities with our presence. And it has become clear that we should develop adaptive sports in communities, veteran facilities, support entrepreneurship among veterans and their families as all of this contributes to the reintegration and re-adaptation of our defenders,” says Pavlo Moroz, Director of the Corporate Social Responsibility Department, MHP.

The Foundation’s winning project, “Cultural Heritage Preservation,” was awarded the “Charity in Culture and Art” nomination. The initiative is intended to support Ukrainian museums during the war.

The project allowed five local museums — Trypillia Culture, of prominent Ukrainians — Vasyl Stus, Vasyl Symonenko, Mykola Leontovych, and Vyacheslav Chornovil — to update entrance facilities, exhibits, and procure the necessary equipment to attract tourists.

“The Foundation supports Ukrainian local museums as they play a key role in recording the history of prominent persons as well as keeping valuable artifacts and pieces of art. Nowadays, during a full-scale war, when the enemy is trying to destroy us, we have to preserve our cultural layer as it is the basis of our national identity,” adds Oleksandr Pakholiuk, director of the MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation.

According to the competition organizers, almost all the projects submitted this year were related to the care and support of those who defend and those who are defended.

“We noted not only major efforts but also big hearts behind our winning projects. We are grateful to all the charity institutions for their work, position, unbending spirit, for doing the impossible given this fierce modern war,” the competition’s organizing committee emphasized.
