2 Million Hryvnias Raised to Support the Khartiia at the MHP Run4Victory Marathon in Kyiv

01 july 2025,

On 18 May, Trukhaniv Island in Kyiv hosted the large-scale charity marathon, MHP Run4Victory. This marked the second event in this year’s series of races organized by MHP and the MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation across various cities under the inspiring slogan: We run for those who fight. We remember those who gave their lives.

Strengthening the Khartiia with 2 Million Hryvnias

More than 2,700 runners took to the track in Kyiv, covering various distances to support the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine – the Khartiia. The race united professional athletes and amateur enthusiasts, with veterans, active-duty military personnel, individuals with disabilities, and children running alongside MHP employees. Participants competed in distances of 42, 21, 10, 5, and 2 kilometers, while the youngest runners challenged themselves over 100 and 500 meters. The event also featured an inclusive race titled “Titan People”.

“MHP Run4Victory is more than just a series of races — it symbolizes resilience, teamwork, and overcoming personal limits. We bring together people who are ready to embrace challenges, push forward, and support one another. But most importantly, every kilometer covered in this race makes a difference. All proceeds from today’s race registration fees will be used to support the 13th Brigade of the Khartiia National Guard of Ukraine. In other cities, funds are allocated to local military units, ensuring that our energy and efforts contribute to repelling the enemy. Together, we don’t just run — we uplift communities, promote healthy living, and inspire others to make new achievements.”, – Serhii Dobrohorskyi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Agro, MHP

The MHP Run4Victory initiative is rooted in the values of strength, unity, and support. Last year, the program raised more than UAH 2.5 million to aid local military units.

“This year’s MHP Run4Victory series continues to expand across cities in Ukraine, dedicated to those fighting on the front lines and commemorating those who have sacrificed their lives. Every start line represents more than just a race — it symbolizes a shared mission and unbreakable unity. When we run together, we support, uplift, and motivate one another. This movement is about solidarity and national identity, reinforcing our strength and bringing us closer to a common victory. Together, we are powerful. Together, we change the future. And only together can we achieve victory”, – Oleksandr Pakholiuk, Director of MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation

This time, all registration fees and donations, amounting to 2 million hryvnias, will be directed to the Khartiia Brigade for the procurement of strike drones.

“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the race! Our gratitude goes to MHP, who continually stand by the Khartiia and make events like this possible so we can cherish life together”, – Ihor Obolenskyi, Colonel, Commander of the Khartiia Corps

Marathon Ambassadors & Participants

Among the many participants was Artem Lukashuk, a veteran and leader of the Cherkasy Kozaks – MHP futsal team. In March, Artem completed 42 kilometers at the Brighton Marathon, and now, in Kyiv, he ran 10 kilometers to support the military. Artem has fought for Ukraine since 2014, sustaining injuries in Vuhlehirsk. In 2022, he returned to service. Today, as a veteran living in Cherkasy, he dedicates his time to helping fellow warriors reintegrate into life through sports. He is a prize-winner of the Invictus Games and captain of the veteran futsal team Cherkasy Cossacks – MHP, supported by the MHP Standing Together program for active-duty military, veterans, and their families.

Veteran Oleksiy Lobanok demonstrated extraordinary resilience by covering 21 kilometers on his prosthetic leg. At the onset of the full-scale invasion, Oleksiy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving as a sapper in the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

Following a serious injury that led to amputation, he made a powerful resolution: his injury and prosthesis would not define or limit his life. Today, Oleksiy serves as a mentor in physical development and safety at the Kyiv branch of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy, where he continues to share his strength of spirit and knowledge with young people, inspiring future generations.

Five-year-old Dmytro Danevych ran the children’s distance in memory of his fallen grandfather, Colonel Viacheslav Voronyi. In 2022, Colonel Voronyi defended besieged Kyiv, carried out the first flights to Azovstal in blockaded Mariupol, undertook missions near Popasna, and tragically lost his life while evacuating the wounded from a downed helicopter after a breakthrough at Azovstal. For Dmytro, this race is not just about sport — it is remembrance, gratitude, and steps filled with deep meaning. Last year, he took part in all MHP Run4Victory races, joining his family in initiatives to aid military personnel, including the #FreeAzov campaign.

The sports partner of the event, NewRun, emphasized the deeper significance of the race:

“This event is not just a sporting competition — it is a real opportunity to contribute to our victory, support our defenders, and show that together we are a strong nation. The marathon has become a symbol of unity and strength of spirit for Ukrainians”, -Oksana Suchenko, Director of NewRun and Sports Organizer of MHP Run4Victory Kyiv Marathon
